Day 16

A belly button has appeared…

Today Robin’s umbilical cord stump fell off, revealing his cute and tiny belly button! It’s a reminder how much he does actually change everyday, even if we don’t notice it daily. Peter is in Japan until Saturday, so it’s likely he will notice how much Robin has changed in a week, on his return.

Nicki and Robin has a lazy Sunday, with the longest kangaroo cuddle to date (just over 3 hours) Robin has been very responsive and reacts to voices, looks around and wriggles around. Nicki read to him today, which he seemed to really enjoy. Granny Suzy also did some reading, which captured Robin attention.

One of the nurses takes photos of the newborns, and presented some pics of Robin to us today. They are very cute, and it’s nice to have something given to us that we thought we might have to miss out in, seeing as Robin lives in a humidicrib, has all the motoring wires, and can’t be posed like full-term newborns. She did a wonderful job, and we’ll treasure the pictures.
