Just a normal day – go to work, do some shopping, have dinner… But it was the calm for the storm…
9am – some cramping pains
12noon – generally ok
6pm – grocery shopping
7pm – Nicki cooks a lamb roast (barefoot & pregnant in the kitchen…)
8pm – some more cramps (enough to stop Nicki talking), we’re convinced by Suzy to call nurse help line
9pm – arrive at WCH – fortunately it’s very quiet, so no waiting. The initial consultation goes smoothly, maybe just Braxton Hicks contractions, but on examination it turn’s out Nicki already has a slightly dilated cervix…
11pm – admitted to hospital: so much for all the hand-wringing about public & private…
