Rotatua to Melbourne

Rotarua to Melbourne

Our very early start got us to the Rotorua airport for our 7am flight to Auckland. The flight was pretty uneventful. At the Auckland airport, we walked to the international terminal (outside – under the threat of rain!) to transfer to our flight to Melbourne. The flight was pretty good, we had a bassinet for Robin for the first time. It attached to the bulkhead in front of our seats. It was really nice not to have to hold him for the full 4 hours, and he had a nice sleep in the bassinet. There was quite a bit or turbulence, but it didn’t bother Robin at all.

Once in Melbourne, we checked into the intercontinental hotel, where they had upgraded us to a suite! The room is huge, plenty of room for the baby. They had made up the cot for us, and even put in little slippers for him! Just too cute!

In the evening, we met up with Peters friend Jen & her daughter Elle, for drinks and nibbles. Robin was pretty tired and cranky by that stage, but soon went to sleep while we were chatting.
