Day 64

9 weeks old

Robin had lots of visitors today! First he met uncle Michael, who had come all the way from Perth. Michael had brought presents from the Lees family, including Robins cousins. Robin received a beautiful wooden plane and some lovely knitted clothes. Uncle Michael met Granny Suzy for the first time, and they both had a cuddle with Robin. Nicki bottle fed Robin.

In the afternoon, some of Nicki’s work friends came to visit. Courtney, Dee and Steve came and brought more presents! We are very chuffed at everyone’s generosity! Country gave Robin some lovely cotton muslin wraps, and Dee and Steve gave Robin a really cute sheep rattle and cloth book. Everyone was pleased to meet Robin, but he was more interested in sleeping. Nicki gave him a gavage feed since he was so tired.

Nicki breastfed Robin in the evening for about 45 minutes. It seemed successful, but she’s not sure how much milk he’s actually getting. We didn’t give him any milk top up, since he seemed to breastfeed for a long time. Hopefully he got enough milk, but if not the nurses will give him a bit more before his 10pm feed. He also managed to completely pull out his nasal gastric tube again, and this time he took the adhesive tape with it, ouch.
