Daddy’s back
Peter is back from overseas! Robin got to see his daddy for the first time in two weeks. Nicki and peter went into the hospital together for the midday feed. Peter changed Robins nappy, then Nicki tried to breastfeed. Robin wasn’t interested, so Peter gave him a bottle instead. Granny Suzy came to visit and had lunch with Nicki & Peter.
Peter thought that Robin looked much bigger and more robust, which is good. It was the first time Peter had seen Robin without monitors on, and he enjoyed the freedom it allows when moving Robin around.
In the evening, Nicki and Peter gave Robin a bath, then Nicki attempted breastfeeding again. We’re still not sure how much milk he’s getting, but he seemed to do pretty well for half an hour. It was frustrating in the beginning, as he just didn’t seem to wan to latch, but with some persistence he got the hang of it. Nicki was very grateful to have Peter there to encourage, support and help her.
