Wellington

Wellington was wet and wild the day we visited! Robin and I went out out in the morning for a walk along the quay and then to a cafe for breakfast. Peter was in meetings all day. Just after breakfast, the rain started, so we headed back to the hotel for the day. We did venture out for lunch, but the weather was really preventing us from going very far.

At 4pm, Peter had finished his meetings and the rain had let up a bit. We decided to brave the weather, and head to the Wellington cable car. The cable car goes up a mountain to the Wellington botanic gardens. There is an observatory in the gardens, but unfortunately it was closed when we got there. Robin slept for the whole time we were out!

We walked down to the Rose garden part of the botanical gardens, down some steep paths. The roses were lovely and some were very nice smelling.

Out walk then led us through an old cemetery, and back down to the city to Parliament House. We went out for dinner to a pizza restaurant, then it was back to the hotel for a movie and early night before the early flight to Rotorua the next day.
