Taipei day 1

Taipei day 1

We were stuck inside most of today, because there was a forecast for thunderstorms. It’s hot here, and very high humidity as well, so not the most comfortable to be walking around in. We didn’t mind having a rest day at the hotel while Peter went to work though.

In the afternoon, Robin and I did go for a small walk to the shops and around the neighbourhood, before returning to the hotel for a swim in the rooftop pool. The pool is lovely and has an amazing view of Taipei, all the way around the huge city and including a view of the Taipei 101 skyscraper.

Robin really loved being in the pool, he certainly is a water baby! I held him and moved him around so he could feel the water move around him. He splashed the water quite a bit and was excitedly kicking his legs. The water temp was nice, but not really warm, so we could only stay in for about 20 minutes before I had to get Robin warmed up. He would have liked to have stayed in the pool for a lot longer.

We went back to the hotel room, and had a warm shower (another new experience for Robin!) then a big feed and nap.

Once Peter got home from work, we picked up some take away food to have in the hotel room. After traveling for so long, I’m starting to miss being able to cook and have a relaxed night at home! It was nice not to have to go out anywhere.
